Four Awards and Three Scholarships Awarded in Vancouver

On April 30, BC Recreation and Parks Association (BCRPA) presented their annual Awards of Excellence alongside the DB Perks and Associates Student Scholarship Awards.

The work of each recipient is reflected through their impact within their communities as well as their service to the recreation and parks sector.

We are pleased to recognize outstanding programs, facilities, parks and special events that have made an impact each year. Each award recognizes a project or person on the forefront of innovation, helping to move our communities forward.

Awards were presented in four categories:

Showcasing Emerging Leaders

BCRPA’s student awards and scholarships celebrate the next generation of leaders in recreation, parks, and aquatics. Their passion and commitment strengthens our communities, inspires active living, and shapes a healthier future for all British Columbians.

The DB Perks & Associates Graduating Student Scholarship Award recognizes outstanding BC post-secondary students who demonstrate excellence in their studies and a commitment to leadership in recreation and parks. These future leaders help advance BCRPA’s vision of recreation and parks as essential to the quality of life for all British Columbians.

Three scholarship recipient were awarded this year:

  • Emma King, Langara
  • Hunter Hieta, Vancouver Island University
