Safety Awareness Courses |

There are numerous playground related injuries reported on
an annual basis.Playground safety training is a must for staff
from parks and recreation, school districts, child care facilities,
health departments, landscape architects and others responsible
for play equipment areas or playgrounds.
The BCRPA and CPRA offer two different training options both
providing quality instruction on playground safety.
Training streams;
1. BCRPA Playground Safety Awareness Course
A one-day course for those participants who need an introduction
or refresher on playground safety and the Canadian Standards
Association’s (CSA) Children’s Playspaces and
Equipment Standards.
2. CPRA/CPSI
Canadian Certified Playground Inspector Certification program
A four-day intensive program that helps individuals thoroughly
understand the Canadian Standards Association’s (CSA)
Children’s Playspaces and Equipment Standards.
- Theory Course (Part 1)
A two-day theoretical course for participants to learn and
understand the technical requirements contained within the
CSA Children’s Playspaces and Equipment Standards
(this can be completed on-line).
- Practical Course (Part 2)
A two-day practical course with hands on training for applying
the Canadian Standards Association’s (CSA) Children’s
Playspaces and Equipment Standards and for performing an
audit.
