PERC Award for Management Innovation and Ingenuity

The focus of the award is CREATIVITY – something that is new and different within your organization – that hasn’t been done in the past: a twist on an old idea, or a display of ingenuity. While something similar could have been initiated elsewhere, the key point is that you or your agency has taken an idea, worked on it, and developed something that is unique and special.

While the idea can be “borrowed” from another source, it should clearly demonstrate benefits that are new to the “community” being served, and it should also create opportunities for other organizations to adapt it for implementation in other settings.

Eligibility:

Individuals, staff teams, corporations, organizations, and government jurisdictions with a current membership in the BC Recreation and Parks AssociationSelection Guidelines:

  • Your management/administration of the initiative is creative and has proven its value in the community and among its citizens or members by delivering additional benefits
  • Your management/administration of the initiative is recognized and acknowledged within the local community, or among peers and colleagues
  • Your management approach can be new, or a new adaptation of an existing idea, or an idea implemented in the face of adversity
  • Your management/administration of the initiative can be adapted by and for the benefit of others
