Striving for Excellence

Once you are a Registered Organization, you have the option of furthering your commitment to healthy child development and quality assurance measures by working towards Accreditation!

Launched in June 2006, HIGH FIVE® Accreditation establishes the benchmark for excellence in children’s recreation and sport programming. It distinguishes those organizations that have reached the highest recognized levels of quality and safety.

To qualify for Accreditation, a Registered Organizations must complete all Levels of Achievement in each of the four modules of the quality framework (see below).

How to Become Accredited

The Accreditation process leads Registered Organizations through a continuum of activity to improve the quality of their programs and is targeted at all levels within the organization.  It is a systematic way to measure and improve program and service delivery.

Registered Organization’s work through the five levels of the Accreditation process according to their own priorities and timelines.  To qualify for Accreditation, Registered Organizations must complete all levels in each of the four modules.

Accreditation designation lasts for a term of three years, during this time organization must file QUEST 2 reports on 8% of all programs and achieve an average score of 70%.

In addition, organizations must complete a QUEST 1 assessment in their third year to qualify for a renewal application.
