Community Leaders' Workshop

Community leaders play an important role in communities across the province.

In many communities, policy regarding parks and recreation services is made by a parks and recreation commission. Effective municipal parks and recreation services depend on the leadership skills of the professionals and volunteers that sit on this commission. It is critical that community leaders understand their role and the many factors that can effect how they carry out their responsibilities.

The BCRPA Community Leaders' Workshop will illuminate the role and impact that today's commissions can have in a community. The course is highly interactive, informative and idea provoking. The content covered will depend on the interests of the participants. Both experienced and new community leaders will benefit from learning how their role is key to the success of parks and recreation services across the province.
