2011 Move for Health Day –
Move for Health Day is an international event created in 2002 by the World Health Organization to promote physical activity. BC Recreation and Parks Association (BCRPA) leads our province in promoting this global event and the benefits of healthy active living, providing participants with tools and resources. Move for Health Day events bring people together in a spirit of fun, inclusivity, and support of healthy active living. Your community and/or workplace could host a walk, create a physical activity challenge or any other activity that engages people in the celebration of being active. Thank you!Thank you to everyone who participated in 2011 Move for Health Day and helped make it a success! Hundreds of events took place across the province on or around May 10 to help get BC moving, including the BCRPA's official launch for Move for Health Day at Garden City Park in Richmond on May 11 and the Symposium Move for Health Day walk the morning of May 13. You can view the BCRPA's special thank you to the organizations, workplaces, communities and local governments who participated in Move for Health Day in the Vancouver Sun MFHD ad. The BCRPA offers communications tools and planning resources to ensure that you are well supported in organizing and promoting your 2011 Move for Health Day events.
