Fitness Leaders who will not be instructing for the upcoming year due to medical reasons, maternity leave, schooling, etc, may apply for inactive registration. Your registration status must be current at the time of application and you must apply to the BCRPA office prior to your "inactive" period.
Applications for an Inactive Registration must be made in writing and submitted with the $70 fee. Inactive status will push your expiry date back 1 year. “Inactive Fitness Leaders” will continue to receive all the benefits of registration, such as the UPDATE newsletter, discounts on conferences, workshops, and products. However, you will not receive a certificate of registration and are not covered under the group insurance.
You can stay on inactive status right up until the time of your new registration expiry date. You must submit copies of current First Aid and CPR certificates to become a current Fitness Leader again; this can be submitted anytime before your new registration expiry date. You will then have to complete your renewal requirements before your new expiry date. If you don’t submit current CPR and First Aid before your registration expiry date you will be considered an Expired Fitness Leader and have to fulfill the renewal guidelines for expired leaders.
